Terms & Conditions

Karl Taylor Photography Courses will endeavour to make your photography course as enjoyable as possible. We will do our utmost to see that you get the best from your time with us and return home with a better working knowledge of your chosen genre of photography.

Weather
Unfortunately there are some things we cannot control, such as the weather, travel or unforeseen circumstances. For example during our landscape courses we try to get our students out to shoot during the best light and the best time of day, however on occasion the weather and conditions may work against us and actually prevent us from recording images safely or in a manner where we can offer you useful tuition. Fortunately we have a large studio where we can undertake other aspects of tuition, lectures, slide-shows and discussion if required. This way we can still provide you with best service possible if circumstances are beyond our control. Whilst we are often able to make the most of the light through a variety of weather conditions, there are no refunds available if the sun doesn't show up!

Health
Our Landscape Courses are designed only for those who are active, mobile and fit enough to traverse steps, steep paths or rocky bays and coves. If you are not able bodied enough for this type of activity then our Landscape Course will not be for you.

Our other courses are more easy going and take place in a comfortable relaxed studio environment.

For your peace of mind our staff have first aid and CPR training.

Insurance & Camera Equipment
Whilst you do not require photography equipment to partake in our courses, it is beneficial to have your own to get the most out of your course. We do not provide equipment for you, only tuition on how to take better pictures with a wide variety of formats including film and digital cameras.

It is advisable that you have adequate insurance for your own photographic equipment. During our courses your equipment may be subject to the elements or accidental damage. We are not responsible for any damage incurred to your photographic equipment or belongings whilst participating on one of our courses.

Travel & Accommodation
Although we are happy to help arrange and organise your travel and hotels for your stay in Guernsey, we are not responsible for the food, service, accommodation or flights. Should you have any difficulties or problems with travel and accommodation we will do our best to solve these for you but we do not accept responsibility for them. Our course fees are for the course only and the travel fees are separate and only collected to assist you with your travel bookings.

Should the weather itself prevent you from arriving in Guernsey for your chosen course we will do our best to arrange for you to join us on an alternative course at a later date. Again such things are out of our control and we will not be held responsible but we will do our best to avoid you any disappointment.

Collection and drop-offs from the airport to your hotel are offered if you arrive at an appropriate time for your particular course. Whilst we aim to please, it may not always be possible for us to arrange this and you may need to organise a taxi for the very short journey from the Airport to St. Peter Port.

Travel Insurance
We do not provide any travel insurance and we would advise that you take out adequate travel insurance to cover any unforeseen eventualities such as health, lost luggage, cancellations or travel delays.

Payment, Deposit and Cancellation
Fees for courses are to be paid in full 14 days before arrival and deposits of 25% are required to confirm your course place. Payment for travel & accommodation will be required in full if we are organising your travel and accommodation.

If you are on one of our Landscape Courses it is recommended that you arrive the day before the course commences to ensure participation in the first dawn photography outing.

If you cancel your course less than 4 weeks prior to your scheduled booking, you will loose your 25% deposit for the course.

If you cancel your course less than 10 days prior to your scheduled booking, you will loose 50% of the course fees.

Your course place is on a first come first served basis. If you are late in settiling the balance due we may offer your place to the next person on the waiting list.

Payment for travel and accommodation may not be refundable depending upon when you cancel or the travel arrangements that you have made. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the cancellation or refund policies of the hotels, airlines or travel companies.

In the unlikely event and for whatever reason that we may have to cancel a course we will refund the amount you have paid for the course and travel that we have booked on your behalf. We will not be able to refund travel arranged by you and we will not pay compensation for the cancellation.

Whilst the course prices detailed on our website are accurate, the prices for travel and accommodation are an approximation only and may fluctuate depending on your time of travel. Please check with one of our administration staff prior to booking for the most up to date prices. We accept cheques or credit card for payment. We do not accept cash.

Inappropriate or Unacceptable Behaviour
All our past students have thoroughly enjoyed our courses and the social atmosphere and communication with other students and tutors. However whilst we like to run our courses in a friendly, informative and informal manner Karl Taylor Photography and its staff reserve the right to expel any individual or persons from any of our courses should we deem their behaviour to be socially unacceptable, reckless or a danger to themselves or to other students.
